These are simple Chinese plates that once graced the tables of a charming and cozy tearoom in the historic Czech city of Telc. This tearoom, located on the main square, was a place that felt like it had been plucked from the pages of a beloved childhood fairytale. If you ever find yourself in the Czech Republic, a visit to the picturesque town of Telc is a must. Unfortunately, this resilient tearoom, which weathered the challenges of the pandemic, could not survive beyond 2023 and had to close its doors.
As the tearoom's owner decided to part with some of the teaware, we had the privilege of acquiring these plates. These plates have seen extensive use and have been touched by thousands of hands over the years. They are simple and modern in design, often adorned with vibrant colors. While they may be unassuming, they would make a delightful addition to the collection of a chajin, carrying with them the stories and memories of a unique tearoom in Telc.
